The steady hand
Major
Major leads the string and sets the pace. Beginners get Major first — he walks rivers like he owns them and waits patiently while riders find their stirrups. Firmly in charge, never in a hurry.
The eager one
Luke
Luke lives for the canter on the ridge tops and settles as soon as he trusts his rider. He suits confident riders on full-day rides — give him a loose rein on the way home and he’ll float.
The gentle one
Biscuit
Biscuit is the colour of a good biscuit and twice as comforting. She carries children and nervous first-timers with endless patience, and can hear a treat packet opening from across the yard.
The wind-lover
Storm
Storm lives up to the name only on the outside. He’s the one who lifts his head when the wind turns, and on multi-day rides he happily takes the front — steady in company, quick on the open ridge.
